Clutch Release Bearing: an Important Part of the Clutch Operating Mechanism

Due to the installation position of the release bearing, the disassembly and assembly of the release bearing is very difficult, and the workload is large. Therefore, understanding the working principle of the clutch release bearing and correctly and reasonably using the clutch has important significance for extending the life of the clutch. The release bearing is composed of four parts: the active part, the driven part, the pressing device, and the operating mechanism. The operating mechanism is a set of mechanisms that separate the clutch and then make it softly combined. It starts with the clutch pedal and ends with the release bearing inside the flywheel shell. The release bearing is pressed onto the release bearing sleeve, and the release bearing sleeve is loosely fitted on the first shaft of the gearbox. It is connected to the release lever through a return spring.

Introduction to clutch release bearing products

The clutch release bearing is an important component on a car, installed between the clutch and the gearbox. Since the clutch pressure plate, release lever and the engine crankshaft operate synchronously, in order to ensure that the clutch can be smoothly engaged, separated softly, reduce wear and tear, and extend the service life of the clutch and the entire transmission system, the release lever needs to rotate while moving along the clutch output shaft through the release bearing. Disassembling and assembling the release bearing is complicated and time-consuming. Therefore, selecting bearings with high reliability and quality assurance and reasonably maintaining and maintaining them can prolong the life of the bearing and improve the user's economic benefits.

The automotive clutch release bearingis installed between the clutch and the gearbox. The release bearing seat is loosely fitted on the tubular extension of the first shaft bearing cover of the gearbox, and the convex shoulder of the release bearing always abuts against the release fork through a return spring and retreats to the last position, keeping a gap of about 3-4mm with the end of the release lever (release finger).

Precautions for the use of clutch release bearings

  • Step lightly and release gently to ensure smooth engagement and separation.

  • Pay attention to maintenance. Use a steaming method to let the butter penetrate during regular or annual inspection and maintenance to make it fully lubricated.

  • Follow the operating rules to avoid the clutch being in a semi-engaged and semi-separated state, and reduce the number of times the clutch is used.

  • Adjust the free travel to meet the requirements to prevent the free travel from being too large or too small.

  • Pay attention to leveling the clutch release lever to ensure that the return spring force meets the requirements.

  • Try to minimize the number of engagements and separations to reduce impact loads.

The clutch release bearingis an important component on a car, which requires car owners to pay more attention to the maintenance and inspection of the clutch release bearing in their daily maintenance. Once an abnormality is found, they should find a professional to solve it in time. Of course, if it is a minor problem, they can handle it themselves.
